Chicks Unleashed brings together women of all abilities & experience who share a passion for the mountains and would like to further their walking, mountaineering or climbing in an all-female environment. The clinics are led by Britain's top female professionals, picked for their instructional expertise and enthusiasm for the mountains and the people with whom they work.

We now have a blog, if you fancy a look! Our Gallery is also up and running, and if you're super keen we've got even more pictures at our Facebook page. Enjoy!

Rock climbing, 6-10th June, 2011

ONE PLACE LEFT

We've one place left on a rock climbing course in June. Book now to secure a place! The plan is to head where the weather is best, it could be the far north west of Scotland, Glencoe, Skye, the Lake District or the Peak District.

This course is suitable for an introduction to rock climbing or someone wanting to progress to learning to lead climb. Both multi and single pitch routes will be climbed. sesssions on movement, climbing technique and all sorts of technical skills of gear placement and ropework will be covered during the course of the week.

Glen Coe classic scrambles, 13-17th June

THREE PLACES LEFT

We are running a special mountaineering course in Glen Coe this summer, which lies at the heart of Highland mountaineering history.

There are a plethora of classic Scottish ridges and scrambles to scale during the week. As well as some incredible journeys, we will look at the complex skills required to go and do these independently - how to 'move together', movement techniques, ropework, route finding and descending steepish terrain.

If you've always wanted to learn how to get to those more elusive summits or Munros, or perhaps you've already been an accompanied group on this terrain but now want to learn to do it for yourself, then this is the week for you!

Mountaineering Council of Scotland, 2011

In May and October 2010 we teamed with the Mountaineering Council of Scotland to deliver a series of GPS & navigation courses. Mountain Safety Advisor, Heather Morning, and Rosie Goolden (Director of Mountain Safety & Training), Nick Carter & Bob Sharp delivered the courses at Glenmore Lodge, the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Base and the Pentland Rangers base, helping some 70 people with their skills & confidence.

Given that the GPS and navigation courses were full to capacity, this looks to be a relationship that is set to continue.

This year we are running a series of navigation, GPS training and NEW scrambling courses in response to accident statistics and the enormous response that we've had from members. To read details of dates, venues and costs please follow this link to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland's website. A number of the events are specifically for women.
